RAAF Base Richmond Airshow - 27/9/25
On 27 September 2025, I got to the RAAF Base Richmond Airshow. It was a great day with some spectacular performances by many of the RAAF assets, plus the RFS Chinook helicopter. There were also great displays of aircraft and other defence related activities on the ground. The highlight for me were the fast jets. It’s hard to go past the F-35A Lightning II and the FA-18F Super Hornet performing at an airshow, particularly when they bring along a load of flares to pop during the performance. The FA-18F Super Hornet leaving the airshow will be a sight I’ll remember for a long time. It went straight up, afterburners engaged and flairs being popped out for most of the climb.
